Buy, Gift, or Dedicate a Bench
We are embarking on a campaign to build and place benches along the length of the Sulphur Creek and Sandy Beach trail. The council is inviting private individuals, businesses and organizations to buy a bench to be placed along the trail.
When you buy a bench, you can dedicate that bench to a person as a memorial or gift it as a business or individual.
City Council Approves Funding
On May 16th, 2024, our city council approved funding to finish the trail and it will be done sometime this summer! Please express your thanks to the council for investing in this valuable community asset.
Major Donors Needed for Pavilion
Plans for a Sulphur Creek Trailhead near the National Guard Armory on South 7th Street will include an outdoor pavilion. The pavilion will have some similarities to the design of the old Heber Springs M & NA Railroad train depot built in 1907. Donor recognition will be noted on the walls within the pavilion and large donations will also be recognized on bridges and other trail amenities.
If you are interested in making a major donation toward this pavilion for the public to enjoy, contact us.
Refinancing of Sales Tax Bond Proves Invaluable
Thank you Heber Springs voters for passing the sales tax bond refinance in 2020. This was a major milestone in advancing this project for our community. That money covers the cost of completing the trail surface for the Sulphur Creek and Sandy Beach Trails.
