A partnership between YOU, Greers Ferry Lake Trail Council (501c3 Non Profit) and the City of Heber Springs"
The renovation of the Jeff Anderson Memorial trail was a partnership between County Judge Jerry Holmes, Count Road Department head Karl Martin and the City of Heber Springs. The county graciously did all the clearing of the trail, built up the trail, installed several culverts, and hauled and packed the gravel. The City paid for the gravel. Trailhead at end of West Main Street.
Heber Springs cross country and track and field teams are living the perfect example of a healthy lifestyle. They have one multiple Triple Crouns and have been winners at the state level indoor and outdoor for several years. They set the bar for the rest of us for year round fitness.
"A special thank you to landowners. Without land owner easements for a trail there would be no trail."
"Frank Wimberley and Sulfur Creek Outfitters have volunteered to adopt a section of trail and oversee basic maintenance of that trail. Frank has also had a hands on approach in overseeing the 4th street to 7th street trail construction and building a bridge."
A shout out to Tommy Gay, local contractor who recently went above and beyond in adding some stream bank stabilization without expense to GFLTC.
Another shout out to: Innovative Surveying Services (Phillip Lancaster) and Perry Sayles Surveying for their assistance on easement identification.
